It's worth it to seek them out or grow/raise them as is reasonable. :)EllaJachttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17937838823211562533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36612182.post-73296428230555114762011-01-11T07:56:25.363-07:002011-01-11T07:56:25.363-07:00I was so shocked by the taste of free-range eggs. ...I was so shocked by the taste of free-range eggs. They are GOOD! I want so badly to taste other "real" foods such as raw milk. We are slowly but surely making the transition. Love your blog... :)Fatimahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10441655211819602032noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36612182.post-74261039879756045212010-12-09T12:20:54.784-07:002010-12-09T12:20:54.784-07:00cameron, it's a step in the right direction co...cameron, it's a step in the right direction compared to cheetos and red bull!EllaJachttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17937838823211562533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36612182.post-60107873013793328402010-12-09T11:15:20.254-07:002010-12-09T11:15:20.254-07:00I'm drinking a Nestea with NATURAL lemon flavo...I'm drinking a Nestea with NATURAL lemon flavor. We have been able to get eggs from friends with their own backyard hens, but we haven't found anyone who grows/butchers their own chickens yet. The few we do know of only produce enough for their families for the year, which is understandable. I am having a hard time finding chicken that is even close to healthy and is still affordable, but I am willing to give up the affordable part if it means eating better meat. Any ideas on "organic" brands to look for in the store? One day we'll have our own land and be able to do it ourselves! I hope!MamaJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06640267511810411108noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36612182.post-29948150693414362092010-12-07T09:38:04.925-07:002010-12-07T09:38:04.925-07:00Anon, thank you for the link. I've read much ...Anon, thank you for the link. I've read much of that information. As with all facts, it's good to know who's 'paying for them.' That site is operated by "OutBreak" - self-described "litigation consultants for the food industry." That doesn't make them UNtrustworthy, but it does display a bent. They are lawyers, who make money suing for food-borne illnesses, and also by consulting for Big Corporations who manufacture food.

As for each article in the site, well, it would take too long to argue them point-by-point, but the arguments COULD be made. It's absurd, to me, to compare 'nutrition information labels' between pasteurized milk and organic (maybe raw) milk. That's like comparing human milk to baby formula; they don't even KNOW all the components to human milk, and I'm guessing there are far fewer research grants looking into the hidden elements of fresh cow's milk.

As with all food, and (things that should be) personal choices, do your own research and make your own determinations. I am far more comfortable trusting my instincts, experience, and thousands of years of human history than I am trusting litigation attorneys, Big Industry, government, etc. But not all will make that same choice.

Thank you for your visit!EllaJachttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17937838823211562533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36612182.post-79873653120529211942010-12-07T08:51:39.407-07:002010-12-07T08:51:39.407-07:00This is a great website for learning about raw mil...This is a great website for learning about raw milk.

http://www.realrawmilkfacts.com/Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
